Here’s a little glimpse at our last live online bootcamp From Memo To Demo.

The 3 concepts explained in this video give you a rough guide for what you’ll want to implement when you take a simple melody idea from a voice note to a full demo within your digital audio workstation (DAW). The three concepts our teachers Ra and Thomas talked about were:

• Lyrics – writing from theme
• Groove – velocity & swing
• Harmony – chords

Additionally, participants got introduced to Splice, a sound library that provides samples and loops and is a great tool for any songwriter, especially if you’re just getting started.

For the purpose of this bootcamp, the teachers focused on one aspect within the 3 big topics to keep things actionable for you. After the concept introduction, the participants went into break out rooms to implement the concepts on their individual song with the help of the teachers.
