Wanting to make music is not enough.
It’s like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and trying to eat everything. Even if you could eat it all, you would not feel very good afterwards.
That’s why some musicians have a hard time gaining momentum. There are too many interesting options. And without clear and achievable goals, it is impossible to push through the the hard parts.
Have you ever done something challenging and asked yourself – Why am I doing this?!
The answer needs to be automatic. Otherwise, your entire physiology and mindset shift into energy-saving mode .
It’s where motivation goes to die.
But, it doesn’t have to be that way.
There’s a (much) better way.
We know because True Artist has helped over 100 members get their music out of their heads and into the world. Where it belongs.
And we’d like to share what we’ve learned along the way…
It’s not a fixed framework or another online course.
But with real people. One on one.
Based on principles that are clear enough to apply to any artist. Yet flexible enough to make sure your unique voice gets heard. And your artist path unfolds with beauty, joy and excitement.
Let’s get started.
The truth is this – you can never be certain of where your artist path will take you. There will be surprises. The future is not knowable.
That can be frightening.
So it is understable that our subconscious tries to protect us by ignoring the unknown. It tries to pretend we are in control.
It fakes control by distracting us. With exciting new projects and learning new stuff. Or with time-wasting activities like scrolling. With busy-work, too much work, too little work. All the way to self-loathing and back.
It makes it impossible to get anything done – at least anything we actually want to do.
That’s why setting clear goals and identifying key skills to focus on is at the heart of what you need to do.
Always.
An artist needs to know what. And needs to know why. Every day.
And the uncertainty part? That can be framed into something positive.
Like getting a new perspective every time you finish one of your real goals.
Like how you feel when a new skill becomes second-nature.
Tiny wins build on each other. After a while, you start to surprise yourself.
Take True Artist coach Sonj for example. When she joined True Artist, she was not confident in her voice. So that’s what we encouraged her to focus on.
It didn’t take long for her to realize that she has a great voice and it was time to move on to the next goal.
Write, produce and release one song. Out came Sea Of Melodies. And shortly after, Travelator.
Currently, she’s working on promoting an entire album she just released.
And along the way, other artists started approaching her to produce their tracks. And they pay her real money for the skills she developed by focusing on one thing at a time.
She never saw that coming. Her day-to-day life is completely different than the person who wasn’t confident in her voice not too long ago.
You can never know for sure where your journey will take you. But if you keep moving towards what you really want, the future is bound to be exciting.
We’d love to help you get started with a one-hour coaching call to help you define your vision and a few extras to make sure you stay on track.

What a difference a year makes!
From having never written a song, to successfully releasing my debut single as an Independent Artist within one year!
This quite simply would not have been possible for me without the support of True Artist and the phenomenal extended community there.
The Coaches are Artists and Music Professionals themselves. They teach and support on all matters of music, mindset and business. Their gargantuan pool of knowledge and generosity to share it with kindness is outstanding.
If you’re thinking about it, do it. You won’t regret it.

True Artist has seriously been a life changing experience for me in so many ways.
I’ve met collaborators and mentors who are now friends. I’ve felt supported through every step of what can be a lonely journey.
I’ve received advice, encouragement and guidance personalised to my specific journey, my songs, my branding and my idea of how I want to show up musically.
I would have got where I’m going eventually, but True Artist has made the process so much quicker and so much lighter than it would have been, had i been carrying this load all on my own.
If you want to fast track your journey, then True Artist is for you.
